Cost of IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment offered by Nashville Fertility Center to help patients grow their families. This procedure involves preparing and inserting sperm directly into the uterus to bypass various fertility challenges, often resulting in a successful pregnancy. Common reasons for choosing IUI include poor cervical mucus, the presence of antisperm antibodies, using donor sperm for same-sex couples or single women, and male infertility factors like abnormal sperm count or motility.
The IUI process consists of three main steps. First, the female patient monitors ovulation through at-home LH kits or ultrasounds at the clinic to determine the ideal timing for insemination. Next, sperm from the male partner or donor is prepared in the lab through a “sperm wash” to concentrate the sample. Finally, the doctor performs the insemination using a catheter to place the sperm into the uterus, followed by a brief rest period. A pregnancy test two weeks later determines if the procedure was successful.
IUI cycles range from $1400 to $4,000. This cost includes follicular monitoring and laboratory fees. Our Tennessee fertility clinic recommends all patients check with their insurance provider to see if their policy covers any of the above services.
